Flutazolam is a benzodiazepine anxiolytic closely related to mexazolam. It is useful in the treatment of anxiety, stress and depression in hypersensitive colon syndrome, chronic gastritis, and gastric and duodenal ulcers.

Flutazolam can be used as analyte in analytical study of development and application of a multi-component LC-MS/MS method for determination of designer benzodiazepines in urine. A benzodiazepine derivative that has sedative, muscle relaxant, anticonvulsant, and anxiolytic effects.
