Victoria Blue R (C.I. 44040) (cas# 2185-86-6) is a useful research chemical. Dyes and metabolites.It is used in preparation and photocatalytic activity of tio2/ppy/go for degrdation of rose bengal and victoria blue dye in visible light in aqueous solution.
Preparation
(a) Bis (4 – (dimethylamino) phenyl) methanol and ??N-Ethylnaphthalen-1-amine condensation, and make their products into N-and the nitro derivatives, and then oxidation, remove the nitro; (b) 4-(Dichloro(4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)methyl)-N,N-dimethylbenzenamine?and N-Ethylnaphthalen-1-amine?condensation.

Properties and Applications
red light blue. Blue gray uniform powder, slightly soluble in cold water, soluble in hot water for blue, easily soluble in ethanol to blue. The strong sulfuric acid is palm in light yellow, diluted by light green to blue. The dye solution to join with brown sodium hydroxide floe content precipitation. Used for silk, wool, cotton cloth tannins mordant dyeing of dyeing, also used in linen, leather, paper, bamboo, wood color, also used in the manufacture of dyes and organic solvent paint.
