Potassium hydroxide solutio (KOH aqueous solution) is a colourless inorganic liquid that acts as a strong base (alkali).KOH solution is also known as caustic potash or potash and has many different applications. Chlorine and hydrogen are formed as by-products during the production of KOH liquid.

Uses

Potassium hydroxide solutio has a wide range of applications in various industries such as food, consumer care and pharmaceuticals, agriculture and glass manufacturing. It is also used as an electrolyte in the production of alkaline batteries and is used in the manufacture of biodiesel as well as in addition to de-icing agents for airport runways, In addition, KOH lye is an intermediate in the formulation of personal care products such as liquid lotions, soaps and shampoos. As a strong alkali, it reacts with grease and fats, making it a useful ingredient in drain and oven cleaners as well as non-phosphate cleaners.
