Benz[j]aceanthrylene and Benz[e]aceanthrylene (70:30 Mixture) is a useful research chemical compound. It is used in the review of genotoxic, mutagenic, and carcinogenic endpoints of US-EPA non-priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

Highly significant carcinogenicity
was found in one initiation–promotion study on mouse
skin and after intraperitoneal administration to
mice. Increases in tumor incidence and/or in the
