Probuco is a lipid-regulating drug with powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-atherosclerosis effects. Probuco is the only synthetic antioxidant certified by the FOOD and Drug Administration of the United States. It was marketed in the United States as early as 1970s, and its chemical structure is unique to that of known lipid-regulating drugs. There are two phenolic hydroxyl groups in the molecular structure of Probucol, which are easy to be oxidized and have a strong ability to capture oxygen ions. Phenolic hydroxyl groups combine with oxygen ions to form stable phenolic oxygen groups. At the same time, phenolic hydroxyl groups are lipid soluble and are mainly distributed on the monolayer surface of lipoprotein composed of phospholipid and free cholesterol in lipoprotein particles. The cells in the artery wall can prevent the water-soluble antioxidants in plasma from entering the subcutaneous layer through a microporous filtration structure. Therefore, probuco is an antioxidant that can be enriched in LDL and easily enter the intima of the artery when ingestion, which is beneficial for the treatment of anti-atherosclerosis. Probucol is a lipid regulator and has anti-atherosclerosis effect. Its lipid-lowering effect is to reduce blood cholesterol and low density lipoprotein by reducing cholesterol synthesis and promoting cholesterol decomposition, and also change the nature and function of high-density lipoprotein subtype, so as to reduce blood high-density lipoprotein cholesterol. The clinical significance of high density lipoprotein cholesterol is unknown. This product has little effect on blood triglyceride. This product has significant antioxidant effect, can inhibit the formation of foam cells, delay the formation of atherosclerotic plaque, and fade the formed atherosclerotic plaque. Clinically applicable to all kinds of mild and moderate hyperlipidemia, and in the treatment of severe hyperlipidemia and other drugs compatible application; It is used in patients at high risk of atherosclerosis and protects the oxidation of endothelial cells in the artery wall, thereby reducing or eliminating atherosclerotic plaques.
