Bentazon (Bentazone, Basagran, Herbatox, Leader, Laddock) is a chemical manufactured by BASF Chemicals for use in herbicides. It is categorized under the thiadiazine group of chemicals. Sodium bentazon is available commercially and appears slightly brown in colour.

Bentazone (25057-89-0) is a systemic herbicide, be adequate for rice, wheat, corn, sorghum, soybeans, peanuts, peas, alfalfa and other crops and pasture hemlock. It has excellent control efficiency for broad leaved weed and sedge.

Usage:

1. This product is a contact type, selective post-emergence herbicide. Seedling treatment works by leaf contact. When used in dry field, it can inhibit photosynthesis through leaf permeation and conduction to leaf green body; When the paddy field is used, it can also be absorbed by the root system and transmitted to the stems and leaves, hindering the photosynthesis and water metabolism of weeds, causing physiological disorders and death. It is mainly used to control dicotyledonous weeds, paddy sedges and other monocotyledonous weeds, so it is a good herbicide for rice fields. It can also be used for weeding wheat, soybean, cotton, peanut and other dry field crops, such as trilobium, water sedge, duck tongue grass, cow felt, curribes grass, wild water chestnuts, pigweed, polygonum grass, amaranth, quinoa, and so on. The effect of high temperature and sunny days is good, and the effect of vice versa is poor. The dose is 9.8 ~ 30g active ingredient /100m

2. If the paddy field weeding is 3 to 4 weeks after the seedling, the weeds and sedges come out and reach the 3 to 5 leaf stage, with 48% liquid agent 20 to 30mL/100m2 or 25% water agent 45 to 60mL/100m2, the water is 4.5kg, the field water is drained when the application, the high temperature and no wind sunny day, the agent is evenly applied to the weed stems and leaves,1 to 2d then irrigation, can prevent the weeds of the sedge family And broad-leaved weeds. It doesn't work well on barnyard grass

2. Suction-conducting herbicide. Contact type, selective post-budding herbicide. When used in dry fields, it can be transmitted to the leaf green body through leaf penetration to resist photosynthesis, and when used in paddy fields, it can also be transmitted to stems and leaves, hindering weed photosynthesis and water metabolism, causing physiological disorders and death. It is mainly used to control two-leaf weeds, paddy sedge and other single-leaf weeds, and is a good herbicide for rice fields. It can also be used for weeding wheat, soybean, cotton, peanut and other dry field crops, such as triloba grass, water sedge, duck tongue grass, cow felt, flat  pole grass, wild water chestnuts, pig plumes, jointing grass and so on. High temperature sunny day use effect is good, vice versa effect is poor.
