PG (propylene glycol), referred to as PG, is a colorless and transparent viscous liquid, odorless, slightly sweet in taste, and hygroscopic. The properties are basically the same as glycerin, but the viscosity, toxicity and irritation are less than glycerin. It has good solubility, can dissolve many drugs, local anesthetics, vitamin A, vitamin D and many volatile oils, and can mix with water and glycerin.

Application                                                                    

(1) Can be used as raw material of unsaturated polyester resin.
(2) Can be used as wetting agent in cosmetics,toothpaste and soap together with glycerol or sorbitol.
(3) In hair dyes, it is used as moisture regulating and hair leveling agent,antifreeze,cellophane and plasticizer
