Trimethylcyanosilane
(TMSCN) is primarily used in organic synthesis as an introduction agent
for cyanide groups because it is a highly toxic substitute for HCN. It
can be used for the cyanosilanization of carbonyl compounds, epoxides,
acyl chloride, benzoquinone, etc., and the process of aldehyde synthesis
of ketones. In addition, trimethylcyanosilane can react with Schiff
base and oxime to form aminonitrile. As an effective silanizing reagent,
it is often used in the silyanation of aldehydes and ketones. In
addition to its application in organic synthesis, trimethylcyanosilane
can also be used as a feedstock for organic polymers, as well as as
intermediates and raw materials in the pharmaceutical and industrial
fields
